David Cassidy, Board Member
David Cassidy is the Chief Executive of Proman, a diversified company operating in the petrochemical sector as an engineering contractor, operator and owner of world-scale facilities. He has a masters degree from Cambridge University, England.
Ira Ehrenpreis, Board Member
Ira Ehrenpreis is a General Partner with Technology Partners. He has been with the firm since 1996. Ira leads Technology Partners’ Cleantech investment practice, investing in energy technology, water technology, and advanced materials opportunities. Mr. Ehrenpreis is a recognized leader in both the venture capital industry and the Cleantech sector, and in 2007, was named one of the “Top 50 Most Influential Men Under 45” by Details Magazine.
In the venture community, Ira has served on the Board and Executive Committee of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and on the Board of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists (WAVC). He served as Chairman of the 2010 NVCA Annual Meeting. He also serves as the Co-Chairman of the VCNetwork, the largest and most active Bay Area venture capital organization. In the Cleantech sector, Ira has served on several industry Boards, including the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Advisory Committee (ERAC), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Advisory Council, the Clean-Tech Investor Summit (Conference Chairman in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012), Cleantech Venture Network (Past Chairman of Advisory Board), ACORE (American Council on Renewable Energy), Energy Investors Forum (Past Conference Chairman), Energy Venture Fair, and California Climate Change Advisory Board. Mr. Ehrenpreis is also an active leader at Stanford University, where his contributions have included teaching the course on Venture Capital, serving on the Board of Visitors of Stanford Law School, and being an advisory board member of the Stanford Global Climate and Energy Project (GCEP). Mr. Ehrenpreis received his JD degree and Masters degree in Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford Law School, where he was an Associate Editor of Stanford Law Review. He holds a bachelors degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude.

Erwin Keutner is the Chief Operating Officer of Proman, a diversified company operating in the petrochemical sector as an engineering contractor, operator and owner of world-scale facilities. He has a masters degree from the University of Cologne, Germany.
Jan Spin, Board Member
Jan W. Spin is the President and CEO of Southern Chemical Corporation. He is attributed with growing the methanol and melamine company’s breadth of services and global reach, making SCC a market leader in the Western Hemisphere.
Mr. Spin served on the board of the Methanol Institute from 2001-2012, serving as both Chairman and Treasurer during his tenure. He also served as Treasurer on the board of the Formaldehyde Council in Arlington, VA. He holds a degree in Finance from American University in Washington, D.C.
Bryant Tong, Board Member
Bryant Tong joined Nth Power in 2001 as a Managing Director. Previously he was founder, President and CEO of Pacific Venture Capital (PVC), the venture capital arm of PG&E, where he led investments in the energy and telecommunications sectors.
Prior to joining PVC, Mr. Tong co-founded ReSourcePhoenix, a public company that pioneered the use of the Internet to help businesses outsource IT and accounting operations. As President and COO, he planned business strategy, led sales and marketing, and was responsible for all day-to-day operations. Prior to ReSourcePhoenix, Mr. Tong was a member of the senior management group at Phoenix American where he worked with Phoenix Growth Capital (PGC), which provided venture lease financing to more than 200 venture capital-backed companies. Mr. Tong also served for four years as a senior member of the audit staff of Ernst and Young with responsibility for the preparation of interim and year-end audits, SEC reporting requirements and internal control reviews. His clients included venture capital firms and large financial institutions. Mr. Tong earned a Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs as well as several industry advisory boards including: the Energy Venture Fair, the Chinese/U.S. Energy Efficiency Alliance and the Golden Capital Network.
Timothy Vail, Board Member
Timothy Vail’s entrepreneurial career, spanning nearly two decades, has focused on alternative energy, from fuel cells to clean coal, and has included key roles in many successful alternative energy ventures. Before joining G2X Energy, Mr. Vail was President and CEO of Accelergy Corporation, an energy technology company focused on the commercialization of Exxon technology to cleanly convert coal into synthetic fuels.
Prior to Accelergy, Mr. Vail served as President and CEO of Synthesis Energy Systems (SES), a global developer of coal gasification facilities that cleanly produce high-quality transportation fuels from low-rank coal resources. He was instrumental in raising more than $200 million for SES, building their first commercial facility and successfully listing the company on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Prior to joining SES in 2005, Mr. Vail served as the Director of Commercialization for Fuel Cell Development at General Motors where his responsibilities included developing GM’s Shanghai fuel cell office and coordinating engineering facilities in the United States, Germany, Japan and China. While at GM, he completed the world’s largest fuel cell commercialization deal with Dow Chemical and developed a fleet of fuel cell vehicles for the U.S. Postal Service. Prior to joining GM, Mr. Vail was the Vice President of Product Development for The New Power Company, a start-up subsidiary of Enron Corporation, where he was responsible for the development of new products and services. Previously he was Vice President at Enron Energy Services, focusing on alternative energy opportunities. Prior to Enron, Mr. Vail was a securities lawyer with Andrews & Kurth, LLP. He holds a JD degree from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin.
